DJ Cue1 started his career around early 2001. Always having a passion for the art, he quickly rose to become one of the best known and admired open format DJ’s in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
Fast forward to 2013 when he moved to Johannesburg, he became a resident DJ at Stones Featherbrook, hosting many events for Monash University. From within the Res Department, he was chosen as a “celebrity judge” for one of their talent shows in 2015.
Two years later, Cue1 had a slot on Visions FM internet radio, where he played presenter and DJ to their Top 20 countdown. Speaking of radio, in the last three years he has featured on UJFM and Metro with guest sets for The Urban Dance and The Drive with Masechaba respectively. For just over two years, he was resident DJ on Saturdays at News Cafe Randburg, with heavy hitters like Oskido, Nastee Nev, Ganyani and DJ Kent guesting from time to time.
More recently, his skills caught the attention of premium club promoters and allowed him to feature in venues like Onyx and Cocoon. You can now find him at Pedro Portia, Cedar Square every Friday night, and News Cafe Northriding every Saturday – playing an wide selection of music from 90’s R&B to current high rotation radio hits, kwaito and various sub-genres of house.
